3rd Annual "Teach Music America" Week:  March 20-26

Keep Music Alive is celebrating the 3rd Annual "Teach Music America Week" from Monday March 20th to Sunday March 26th. We are asking musicians and music schools everywhere to find one new student they can begin to teach by offering one free 30 minute lesson. We are also asking all interested music students (kids and adults) to seek out a music teacher or musician participating in "Teach Music America". We have chosen a week in March for "Teach Music America" to coincide with National "Music in Our Schools Month" (MiOSM) across the country to help focus attention on the importance of including music as part of our children's education.

Why is this important?

We all know, that often the biggest hurdle to anything is just getting started. We believe that by encouraging music teachers and potential students to reach out to each other, many of these new students will continue to learn and play music long after the month of March is over. Our goal is to get as many new students to begin learning how to play music as we can. Only by sparking musical interest in new students will quality music be created for future generations.
